Jonathan Klan

Economist

Jonathan joined Tourism Economics in January 2024. As a member of the Forecasting and Industry Studies team, he examines the effect of policy proposals impacting the tourism industry and works closely with associations to determine their economic impact. When he’s not working, Jonathan is always finding new ways to lose to his wife at board games.

Prior to joining Tourism Economics, he worked as an economic development consultant, where he helped cities develop strategies for workforce development, modernize their economic development departments, and determine the best industries for investment.

Jonathan earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and his master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin.
