Omneya Fahmy

Senior Economist

Omneya Fahmy is a Senior Economist with Tourism Economics. Bringing over a decade of analytical experience, Omneya is passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights allowing our clients to make strategic data-informed decisions.

Prior to joining our team, Omneya was Research Director at Resonance Consultancy. In her role, Omneya has performed benchmarking analyses, industry cluster and occupational workforce analyses, destination assessments, and scenario forecasting models for cities of all sizes across North America, including Houston, Scottsdale, Tucson, Greenville, and many others. An effective communicator and experienced statistical analyst, Omneya played a strategic role at Resonance, where she led proprietary research projects to develop insights that enhance both economic prosperity and quality of life for the local community in the destinations she served.

Earlier in her career, Omneya was a Statistical Assistant for the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, where she was responsible for data collection, processing, analyzing, and disseminating education and learning outcomes data. While at UNESCO, she took a leading role in the production of technical papers and major publications, including the 2018 Education Digest, a fact sheet that explored child education, and an investment case encouraging national policymakers to invest in education data.

Omneya has a Masters in economics from Concordia University in Montreal and a Bachelors from the American University in Cairo.
