Updated July 30, 2026Camping World Stadium (CWS) is a world-class venue in Orlando, Florida, with a history dating back to 1936, has grown from an original capacity of 8,900 to more than 60,000 and has hosted major events including the FIFA World Cup, NFL Pro Bowl, WrestleMania, and NCAA bowl games, along with frequent concerts throughout the year.
As the stadium continued to evolve into a modern, high-impact venue, its operators faced a clear challenge: quantify its economic impact on the local economy in order to secure funding for continued expansion and modernization.
Tourism Economics conducted a comprehensive study analyzing both the incremental and gross impacts of the stadium. Using a custom impact model, the team examined visitor spending, operational expenses, and the resulting ripple effects throughout the local economy.
The analysis revealed the full scope of Camping World Stadium’s economic impact, including direct visitor spending, employment, household income, and fiscal tax contributions. The findings confirmed CWS as a major job creator, income generator, and economic engine for the region.
Backed by this data, the stadium secured $400 million in public tourism tax funding, nearly half of the total funds available.
