Tourism Economics’ latest Travel Industry Monitor (TIM), a quarterly survey among tourism professionals conducted in Q4 2023, identified strong expectations of growth in 2024 and beyond.

While staffing issues and cost-related concerns remain significant, the overall perception of barriers to growth was reduced compared with previous findings.
Bleisure tourism, leisure events, and new investment were again highlighted as key levers for growing tourism.
Overall sentiment improved compared with the previous survey in Q3 2023. Around three-quarters (73%) were confident about tourism growth in their country over the next two years.
